Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China in the January-July period of the last year totaled $76.63 billion, up 7.9 percent year on year, with a total of 14,409 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, up 8.8 percent year on year, as announced by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on August 19. In the January-July period of last year, $23.84 billion of FDI went into China’s manufacturing industry, down 5.4 percent year on year, accounting for 31.1 percent of the total FDI figure, while $47.5 billion went into the country’s services industry, up 19.6 percent year on year, accounting for 62 percent of the total.
FDI in China in 2015 totaled $126.27 billion, up 6.4 percent year on year, with a total of 26,575 new companies set up by foreign investment in China, rising by 11.8 percent year on year, as announced by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC). In 2015, $39.54 billion of foreign direct investment (FDI) went into China’s manufacturing industry, remaining basically stable year on year, accounting for 31.4 percent of the total FDI figure, while $77.18 billion of FDI went into the country’s services industry, rising by 17.3 percent year on year, accounting for 61.1 percent of the total.
